Pupil Council
The school organises a Pupil Council which meets at least six times a year. Two representatives are elected from each class from P4 – P7 at the start of the school year. Primary 3 elect representatives in the summer term only.
A Chairperson and Secretary are elected in June each year and they organise and run meetings (Agenda – Minutes – letters to Head Teacher, Parent Council). Children have class meetings before and after every council meeting and representatives bring issues of interest and concern from their class. P1 – P3 can discuss issues with their teacher and send these to the council.
The DHT and any other relevant adults are present at all meetings. Pupil Council gives pupils the opportunities to be part of the decision making process in the school and to have their ideas and contributions valued. The Head teacher and pupil council representatives give information about decisions made at these meetings at assembly.
