Dress Up Week

What a busy week it was. We had so much fun learning lots of new skills and knowledge, including learning about the latest seasons and celebrations.

We spent the week expressing our creativity and individuality through daily dress up and costumes. We seen witches, super heroes, princesses and more. Even the ladies got involved by showing off their costumes too.

We also had the opportunity to carve pumpkins, learning how to safely use knives to cut out our own designs. We planned our designs by first drawing directly on to the pumpkins, then very carefully using our tools to cut out the shapes. We had to be very safe when using these tools so no one got hurt and our pumpkins looked amazing when they were complete. This also helped to develop our hand eye co-ordination and our fine motor skills.

Never the wasteful types, we put the pumpkins to good use and became Chefs, making the yummiest soup ever using the pumpkin pulp and cut out pieces. We had to chop up all our ingredients and use the hot cooker so we learned lots about risk, danger and keeping ourselves and other safe. Obviously, the soup was wonderful and we all enjoyed tasting it during snack time.

We experimented with science too, exploring different formulas through potion making, like Scientists creating invisibility potions and elixirs to make us fly. All our senses were very useful in our explorations of different liquids, gloops and goo.

We became Palaeontologists, digging for bones in the sand then joining them together to identify the dinosaurs. Turns out T-Rex has been living in our sand pit for a while.

Autumn is officially with us and it has brought us some invaluable learning experiences that are filling us up with fantastic knowledge, understand and life skills.
