Book Week Scotland

Last week we celebrated Book Week Scotland with some help from some friends including Emily the Elf, Dolly Parton and Primary 4.

To start the week off the ladies shared their favourite stories each day through Seesaw, and our friend Dolly helped too. We love sharing stories with you all, especially our favourites. It was lovely to see you post your stories to Seesaw too.

We also had a special visit from Emily the Elf. We came across some rainbows and curious as ever, we decided to follow them. We were so excited when they led up to the woods to be surprised by Emily. She read us some wonderful stories and told us lots of exciting things about her life as an Elf. It was pretty amazing meeting a real life Elf.

Sarah did an exciting Book Bug session where we explored traditional nursery rhymes. We got to pick the puppets and work out which rhyme they represented. We sang, told stories and laughed together whilst waving the fabric like the stormy sea. We even got a sticker at the end.

We were very lucky to have Primary 4 visit us for some storytelling. They brought their own books and were so kind in sharing them with us. They are very good readers indeed.

Stories were a big focus outdoors too but we didn’t have anywhere dry to read them. Angela asked us to think and wonder to see what we could come up. We used our problem solving skills and Angela’s new Forest Kindergarten knowledge to create an A-frame tent. We sat inside reading stories the whole day. Check it out!

And to top off a fantastic week, we have our first Reading Champions! Congratulations on reading 10 stories already.
